The aim of the project is to increase the accountability of local governments in their use of Specific Purpose Grants, known as DAK, from the national budget. These grants will give participating local governments in regions with limited fiscal capacity an incentive to invest in infrastructure for basic services such as roads, water, sanitation, and irrigation.
US$2.57 million World Bank-administered OBA grant for improved Access to Water Services in Western Jakarta, Indonesia
Jakarta, Indonesia, November 1, 2007 – The Global Partnership on Output Based Aid (GPOBA) has signed today a grant agreement with the PT Pam Lyonnaise Jaya (PALYJA), for US$2,573,140 that will subsidize the cost of water supply connections for households in a number of poor communities in Western Jakarta.
