World Bank-administered Output-Based Aid Grant to Help to Improve Water Supply Services in Rural India
Washington, DC - May 16, 2007- The Global Partnership on Output Based Aid (GPOBA) today signed a grant agreement for US$850,000, that will assist in improving access to safe drinking water to poor rural communities in India.
For years, in the rural coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, there were no alternatives to the highly contaminated tap water from government-owned piped water systems, which were poorly operated and maintained.
